Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudolf Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinju Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nixon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sakuraba's waist but Sakuraba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nixon off to one side.
Sakuraba shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nixon is trying to defend but Sakuraba finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sakuraba perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sakuraba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nixon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nixon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nixon!
Sakuraba takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Nixon lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nixon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sakuraba but Sakuraba pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sakuraba closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sakuraba lands in his opponent's guard.
Nixon wants to improve his position but instead Sakuraba has moved into half guard.

Shinju Sakuraba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sakuraba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
