Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexis Payne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Toby Mcguire! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payne has his takedown stuffed and Mcguire counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A big left from Mcguire misses. It looked like Payne was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Mcguire's jab looks to have found its range, popping Payne under the eye. Mcguire swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Payne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mcguire throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Payne counters with a two punch combo. Mcguire with a hook. Mcguire misses with an uppercut. Payne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mcguire. Payne slips a jab and a cross from Mcguire.
Mcguire looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mcguire is looking to clinch. Mcguire scores with a nice strike. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcguire thows a left - swing and a miss! Payne attempts a counter takedown but Mcguire avoids it well and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcguire throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Payne sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mcguire lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Payne circles away quickly and effectively. Payne attempts a counter takedown but Mcguire avoids it well and moves away. A big left from Mcguire misses. Payne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Payne staying out of range there. Mcguire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcguire wants it to stay on the feet. Mcguire looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mcguire connects with a nice looking jab.
Payne uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mcguire. Payne feinted with a counter takedown. Mcguire rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Payne moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mcguire scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Payne is rocked! Mcguire connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Payne to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Mcguire!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Toby Mcguire! Toby Mcguire bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
