Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Brown is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Brown!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard fails with the takedown.

Brown drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown trying to control but Howard is working from the bottom.
Brown passes into half guard.

Brown is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Howard has managed to free his arm - good work.

Brown is working for a submission of some sort.

Howard is defending against the submission attempts here by Brown.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brown mounts Howard! Really nice guard pass there!
Howard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Howard has given up his back here. Will Brown look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Brown patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Brown is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Howard knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Howard for a finish.

Brown somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Brown gets his hands free as Howard looks to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Brown is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Howard has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Howard trying to control the hands but Brown won't let him.
You can see the frustration on Howard's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Brown has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Howard has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Brown dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Howard cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
The fighters circle momentarily. Howard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

and Brown counters with a single leg into guard. Howard didn't expect that.

Brown postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Howard pulls Brown in close to his closed guard and prevents Brown from doing any damage or advancing position.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carlos Brown has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Brown closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brown is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Howard defends it well.

Brown is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howard blocking the ground and pound attempt from Brown.
Brown throwing shots but Howard is blocking nicely.
Brown with the ground and pound but Howard uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Howard striking off his back but it's not causing Brown any problems.
Brown missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Howard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brown on the ground.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Howard is looking to clinch.
Howard cracks Brown with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Brown fails with the takedown
and Howard makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Howard tries for a takedown but Brown sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Howard gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Brown counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Howard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brown tries for a kimura but Howard is defending well.

Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brown wants to control but Howard is keeping him busy.

Brown tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ground and pound from Brown seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Brown wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Howard, who protects the arm well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Brown is looking to improve his position.

Howard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brown sees it coming and defends easily.

Howard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Howard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brown manages to get to full guard.
Howard looking to sit in guard and control but Brown gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brown advances position into side control!
Howard is trying to control Brown's posture but Brown avoids it.
Brown cracks Howard with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Howard is trying to work for a sweep but Brown has mounted him!

Brown working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Howard looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Brown! Submission of the night perhaps?
