Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kit Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kit Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
Johnson flicks out a counter leg kick but Walker steps away.
Walker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Johnson swinging wildly here.
Johnson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Johnson.

Walker closes the distance and clinches.
Johnson tries to break free but Walker pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

It looks like Kit Walker has been cut.

Johnson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Walker if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Walker should have avoided that one.
Johnson misses with an uppercut. Walker saw that one coming.
Kit Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Walker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Johnson feints and then cracks Walker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Walker down.

Johnson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Walker is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Walker postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Johnson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Walker, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Walker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Johnson defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walker has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.
Johnson won't allow Walker to sweep him here.

Walker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Walker won't let him.
Walker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Walker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Walker throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Walker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Walker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson pulls Walker in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Walker gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

It looks like Anthony Johnson has been cut.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
As Walker backs off Johnson throws a huge counter combo but Walker manages to avoid it all.
Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kit Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Walker looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range.

Walker rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Walker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Walker blocks a leg kick.
Walker definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Walker tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Walker back to his feet - he wants the finish!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Anthony Johnson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Walker shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Walker manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.

Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Walker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kit Walker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walker's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Johnson is pulling down on Walker's head. It's preventing any offense from Walker, at least for the moment.

Walker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnson, up you get!

Walker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Walker shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Walker shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Walker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Walker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Walker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.

Oh Walker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Kit Walker's cut is getting worse.
Walker is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
A shot to the liver by Johnson. Beautiful body shot.
and Johnson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Walker! He's just covering up as Johnson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Johnson!
Kit Walker was interviewed post fight and said 'Devils sake'.
