Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Neutron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickon Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Neutron has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Neutron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rickon Reed!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neutron connects with a crisp jab.
Reed stuffs the takedown.
Reed looks to land a right hand but Neutron moved out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Reed misses the target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Neutron is defended easily by Reed.
Neutron staying out of range there.
Neutron swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Reed appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Reed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Neutron doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Neutron looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Neutron is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big right from Neutron misses.
A countering left hand to the body from Reed misses.
Neutron takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Reed keeps the fight on the outside.
It seemed like Reed was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Neutron manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reed on his heels. He'll look to pass Reed's guard now, I'm sure.

Neutron won't allow Reed to sweep him here.
Neutron missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Neutron controlling from the top position.
Neutron wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neutron trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neutron trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Reed manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Neutron looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Reed trying to control but Neutron is working from the bottom.
Neutron looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reed is one step ahead there.
Neutron controls Reed momentarily but Reed frees himself.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Neutron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neutron is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Reed defends well.

Reed won't allow Neutron to sweep him here.

Neutron looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Reed works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Reed is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Neutron is trying to maintain the position but Reed is very close to passing his half guard.
Neutron keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Reed controlling the action here.
Neutron trying to hold on to Reed's head to control him but Reed postures up.

Neutron looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reed sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rickon Reed dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Reed gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Neutron to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Neutron stays in close to Reed's body and controls the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Neutron's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Reed working a defensive guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neutron working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Reed looking for a sweep. Not yet Reed, not yet.
Neutron looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Neutron drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Reed dives on top into guard.

Neutron controls Reed momentarily but Reed frees himself.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Neutron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neutron not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reed looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Reed trying to control but Neutron is working from the bottom.

Neutron working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Reed has passed into half guard!
Neutron wants to sweep but Reed has passed to side control!

Neutron is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Reed trying to control the position but Neutron is working away.
Neutron manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Neutron makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Neutron.
Neutron is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neutron looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Reed is looking to work some ground and pound but Neutron has wrist control.
Neutron is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Neutron avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Neutron takes a swing at Reed's ribcage but misses.
Reed looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A jab from Reed misses.
Reed swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reed on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A leg kick checked by Reed.
A shot to the body from Neutron misses
and Reed counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Reed misses with a double jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rickon Reed will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Neutron misses with a kick to the body.
Reed unleashes a big counter combination but Neutron bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Neutron gets the takedown into side control.
Reed is not content to let Neutron control the position.
Reed is looking for a sweep.
Reed is still trying to improve position.

Neutron tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Neutron wants to control but Reed is keeping him busy.

Neutron goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Reed rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Neutron's guard! Nice work there by Reed!
Reed postures up.

Neutron working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reed doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reed manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Reed's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Neutron is looking to cinch up a triangle. Reed throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Neutron's body to avoid the submission. Neutron has instead reached around Reed's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Neutron arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Carlos Neutron!
Carlos Neutron decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
