Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xantos Aremis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ludwig Manres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aremis comes into the arena with Infected Mushroom - Merlin blaring out of the sound system. Manres has chosen Aqualung - Jethro Tull as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
27 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xantos Aremis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
34 - 38 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ludwig Manres!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manres shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aremis pinned against the cage. Aremis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aremis was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Aremis connects with a good right hand that stumbles Manres. Manres circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Aremis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Aremis looks to throw the jab but Manres is out of range.
Nice defenses there by Manres.
Manres has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Manres there as he acknowledges the shot.
Aremis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Manres momentarily.
Xantos Aremis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Manres darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Manres slips a nice elbow through Aremis's hands, connecting with Aremis's forehead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manres is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Aremis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Manres.

Manres is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Aremis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Manres is looking to escape.
Aremis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Aremis is taking a breather. Manres says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Manres regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Aremis.
Manres wants to sweep here but Aremis controlling him for the moment.
Aremis throws an elbow that misses. Manres uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aremis's guard. Nice move by Manres!
Manres postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Manres wants to control from the top but Aremis keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Aremis with a nice cross.
Manres blocks a jab.
Aremis moves into range and connects with a jab.
Aremis throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch lands to the side of Manres 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Manres tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Aremis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Aremis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Aremis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Manres misses with a takedown attempt
and Aremis counters with a good low kick that Manres was not able to check.
Aremis lands with a right hand.
Manres is rocked!
Manres drops his hands momentarily. Aremis doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Manres staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Manres doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Xantos Aremis!
A very excited looking Xantos Aremis made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
