Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wilbert Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goofy Tsavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goofy Tsavo will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wilbert Johnston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Goofy Tsavo!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tsavo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And Tsavo tries to counter it with a takedown but Johnston pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Johnston fails to land the takedown.

Johnston moves into the clinch.
Johnston is looking to break free of the clinch but Tsavo has double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tsavo has Johnston pressed against the cage, preventing Johnston from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Johnston tries to work over Tsavo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A frustrated look appears on Johnston's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Johnston prevents the takedown attempt.
Johnston is pushing Tsavo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Johnston looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Johnston is looking to break free of the clinch but Tsavo has double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnston is working for takedown but Tsavo is calmly controlling the position for now.
Johnston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tsavo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnston pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Tsavo is pressed up against the cage. Johnston has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tsavo down to the mat. Tsavo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilbert Johnston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnston darts in and clinches Tsavo up against the cage.
Johnston looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Johnston is trying to force a seperation but Tsavo has the dominant position.

Tsavo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tsavo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnston.
Johnston could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Johnston wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Johnston is pressed up against the cage. Tsavo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Johnston down to the mat. Johnston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Johnston closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tsavo is holding on to half guard well.
Johnston takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnston thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tsavo's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilbert Johnston dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Johnston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tsavo on his heels. He'll look to pass Tsavo's guard now, I'm sure.
Johnston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tsavo is on top in guard.

Tsavo advances to half guard.

Tsavo is taking a breather. Johnston says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tsavo stalling.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnston is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tsavo pulls his head out easily.
Tsavo works his way into side control.
Johnston struggling a bit here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tsavo slows the pace down.
Wilbert Johnston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Let's hope that Tsavo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Johnston is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tsavo can do to turn this around?
Johnston wants to control but Tsavo postures up.
Tsavo remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Johnston tries to bench press Tsavo off him but Tsavo keeps the position.
Tsavo takes a little break here. Johnston wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Tsavo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Johnston!
Johnston wants to control but Tsavo is having none of it.
Tsavo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Tsavo moves to back control.
Johnston looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Johnston tries to escape but Tsavo has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Tsavo controlling the position well here. Johnston rolled but Tsavo kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

You can see the frustration on Johnston's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Good control from Tsavo.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Tsavo.
