Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Luzny Stolec! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Travis McElroy! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McElroy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stolec is trying to defend but McElroy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. McElroy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stolec sees it coming and defends easily. It looks like McElroy is going to stand back up.

McElroy wants to stand up but Stolec has a hold of him and won't allow it. McElroy blocks the strikes from Stolec.
Stolec gets full guard. Stolec manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McElroy manages to get himself to full guard.
Stolec with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McElroy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stolec. Stolec could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stolec got a little sloppy there for a moment and McElroy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stolec accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McElroy has Stolec pulled in close to control his posture. Stolec postures up in McElroy's guard and throws a big left but McElroy blocks it. McElroy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stolec. McElroy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. McElroy wants to stand but Stolec is controlling the position. Stolec loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stolec has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McElroy tries to land a sweep but no joy. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McElroy holds on and takes a little breather. McElroy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stolec with a flurry of punches that miss. McElroy is pulling down on Stolec's head to control his posture.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Stolec gets caught napping as McElroy dives in and scores a takedown. Stolec manages to retain guard. Stolec looking for a guillotine here but McElroy defends easily.
Stolec is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Stolec escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McElroy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McElroy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stolec will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

McElroy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McElroy wants to get up but he can't break Stolec's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Stolec striking off his back but it's not causing McElroy any problems. McElroy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McElroy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McElroy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McElroy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Stolec looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but McElroy is defending well. Stolec quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! McElroy has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stolec celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
