Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lamar Harper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Efrain! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Harper or perhaps it was just good defense by Efrain, which made it look bad. Harper has a takedown stuffed. Efrain doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Harper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Efrain tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lamar Harper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Efrain misses the shot to the body. Harper shoots in but no luck this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Efrain throws a series of strikes that have Harper backpedaling.
It looks like Lamar Harper has been cut. Harper fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper tries to sprawl but Efrain drives through with a takedown into half guard. Harper has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Efrain is on him like a limpet, forcing Harper back against the cage. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Efrain has eaten all the pies! Harper pulls guard. Harper not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Efrain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Efrain is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harper controlling the position. Harper is trying to control the position but Efrain postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Efrain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Efrain tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Harper preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Efrain throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harper takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Efrain throws a right and a left that Harper avoids nicely. Efrain scores with the left hand. Harper knows he should have avoided that one. Efrain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harper.
Efrain lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Harper sprawling to the canvas. Efrain follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Harper hang on? Efrain wants to get back to his feet.
Harper has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Efrain is working away from the top position though. Efrain wants to stand but Harper has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Efrain dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lamar Harper's cut. That's time! Harper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Efrain stuffs the takedown. Efrain is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Harper with a lazy takedown attempt and Efrain counters with a single leg into guard. Harper didn't expect that. The fighters are working up against the cage. Harper manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Harper jumps into guard, dragging Efrain to the mat.
Efrain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Efrain wants to get up but he can't break Harper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Efrain postures up.
Harper will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Harper wants to get back to his feet but Efrain is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Efrain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Efrain looking to score a takedown here. Harper is defending well but Efrain drives through and ends up in Harper's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Efrain wants to get up but he can't break Harper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Efrain throws a right hand that Harper ducks under and follows up with a left that Harper also avoids with ease. Efrain goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Efrain shoots in and bounces Harper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Efrain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Efrain gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Lamar Harper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Efrain punishes Harper's body with a nice straight punch. Efrain stalks Harper and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Harper's face. Harper staggers backwards, shaken. Efrain fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Harper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Efrain closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Harper did well to prevent Efrain getting side control.
Harper is rocked! Efrain stands up and beckons Harper to join him on the feet. Efrain scores with a body shot.
Efrain has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Efrain gets a double leg takedown into Harper's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Efrain wants to get up but he can't break Harper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Efrain stands up from guard. Let's bang! Harper walks into a left hand. Efrain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. It looked like Harper was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Efrain fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Harper to the ground. Efrain is now in Harper's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Harper manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Efrain has hold of one of Harper's legs. Harper is fighting the takedown attempt but Efrain gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harper trying to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Excellent takedown into side control there by Efrain. Harper sneaks out the side door and pushes Efrain away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Harper misses with a takedown attempt - Efrain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Efrain lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Efrain tries to bum rush Harper with a series of wild strikes but Harper uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Harper shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Efrain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Efrain wants to stand up but Harper has a hold of him and won't allow it. Alexander Efrain is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Harper uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Efrain is looking to stand up but Harper won't let him. Alexander Efrain has got the better of the ground game so far. Harper tries to strike from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Efrain with a body punch. A glancing blow. Efrain changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Harper shoots for a double leg takedown but Efrain sprawls well. He's pushed Harper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Alexander Efrain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Efrain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
