Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rudd Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atte Savitaipale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savitaipale has chosen Roger Whittaker - Finnish Whistler as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Atte Savitaipale enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rudd Tyler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Atte Savitaipale! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savitaipale swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tyler. Nice defenses there by Tyler. Nice shot lands for Savitaipale. Savitaipale throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tyler tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Savitaipale is in Tyler's guard. Savitaipale won't allow Tyler to get back to his feet. Savitaipale controls from within his opponent's guard. Savitaipale working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Tyler keeping full guard, as Savitaipale tries to pass. Tyler wants to sweep but no luck. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Savitaipale working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Savitaipale is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tyler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Savitaipale on the ground. Savitaipale advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Savitaipale working away. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Tyler can't do much from the bottom here. Savitaipale scores with punches from side control. Savitaipale controlling from side mount. It looks like Savitaipale might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tyler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Tyler is trying to escape the position but Savitaipale is controlling the position. Savitaipale working the head with strikes. Savitaipale lands some shots froms side control. Tyler can't do much from the bottom here. Savitaipale remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Savitaipale lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Savitaipale moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Tyler is trying to improve his position. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savitaipale wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tyler, who protects the arm well. Savitaipale controls the position. Savitaipale is continuing to stall. Savitaipale passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Tyler! Savitaipale looking to control and managing it successfully. Tyler is working to get back to half guard.
Savitaipale takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyler is looking to improve his position but Savitaipale isn't that keen on the idea. Tyler tries to hold on but Savitaipale postures up. Savitaipale controlling the position easily from mount. The adventures of Savitaipale the control monster continue. Boring. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Atte Savitaipale dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Savitaipale jabbing away but nothing is landing. Tyler takes one to the chin there. Tyler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Savitaipale drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tyler defends it well. Tyler forces Savitaipale back against the cage and clinches. A knee to the head by Tyler.
Tyler trying to control the position but instead, Savitaipale has worked for underhooks and has pushed Tyler into the cage. Tyler utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Savitaipale jumps guard but Tyler stands there with Savitaipale around his waist. Savitaipale gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tyler is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Savitaipale jumps guard and drags Tyler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Savitaipale is on top in guard.
Savitaipale stops Tyler from standing up. Savitaipale controls from within his opponent's guard. Savitaipale advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler is in trouble now - Savitaipale has advanced to mount! Savitaipale tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Savitaipale scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Savitaipale connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Savitaipale controlling the pace for now. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Savitaipale cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Savitaipale sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Savitaipale has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Savitaipale lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Savitaipale controlling from mount. Savitaipale has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Savitaipale working the ground and pound effectively.
Tyler sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Savitaipale is looking for a kimura but Tyler is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Savitaipale to get the leverage. Savitaipale scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Savitaipale works his way into full mount! Tyler is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Savitaipale lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Savitaipale postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tyler looks a forlorn figure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Savitaipale with good strikes from the mount here! Atte Savitaipale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Savitaipale closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tyler quickly recovers to half guard. Savitaipale controlling the pace. Tyler wants to get back to full guard. Savitaipale trying to control the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tyler is looking for a sweep. Savitaipale is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Savitaipale performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Savitaipale throws a looping overhand right but Tyler ducks down to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Decent striking displayed by Savitaipale there. Savitaipale throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Savitaipale shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Savitaipale showed some decent athleticism there. Savitaipale working over Tyler with some ground and pound. Tyler looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Still in half guard, Savitaipale seems content to control. Savitaipale's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Let's hope that Savitaipale has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Ground and pound from Savitaipale. Savitaipale controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Savitaipale lands a nice short elbow. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tyler wants to control but Savitaipale is keeping busy.
Savitaipale tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tyler knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Savitaipale controlling the pace. Atte Savitaipale is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Savitaipale trying to mount his opponent but Tyler defends it. Still in half guard, Savitaipale seems content to control. Savitaipale looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tyler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Savitaipale is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that's the end of the fight! Atte Savitaipale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Savitaipale winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
