Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Orville Fuentes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Forrest!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuentes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Orville Fuentes has been cut.
Forrest has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fuentes is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Forrest throws a nice looking combination but Fuentes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fuentes went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Forrest clinches up with Fuentes and pushes him back against the cage.
Forrest lands a right hand.
Fuentes pulls guard effortlessly.
Forrest stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Forrest clinches with his opponent.
Forrest lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Forrest missing with knees to the body.
A right hand to the body from Forrest.
Fuentes is breathing heavily.
Forrest manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Forrest will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
As Forrest looks to move away, Fuentes throws a big counter combo but Forrest just gets out of the way.
Forrest fails to land with a series of punches.
Forrest drives through and clinches with Fuentes against the cage.
Fuentes tries to pull guard but Forrest won't allow it.
Forrest landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Still in the clinch, Forrest scores with a nice short uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Forrest has picked Fuentes up - he's going for a ride! Forrest dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Forrest decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Forrest rushes Fuentes with punches - Fuentes moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Fuentes goes down! Forrest follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Troy Forrest!
