Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simms tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but StPierre paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Simms closes the distance and clinches up with StPierre, looking for a takedown. Simms pushes StPierre against the cage but StPierre circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
StPierre shoots in but no luck this time.
Simms keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Simms counters with a big head kick but StPierre shrugs it off.

Simms breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

StPierre gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Simms moves into the clinch.

Simms ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Simms no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Simms manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Simms jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… StPierre is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by StPierre and Simms has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Simms is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt StPierre will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
StPierre tries to bench press Simms off him but Simms keeps the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
