Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nichi Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong's entrance music is Hong Entrance Song. A fine choice. Polo has chosen On The Floor as his entrance music. Marco Polo acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nichi Hong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marco Polo! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hong misses with a takedown attempt - Polo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hong pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Polo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Marco Polo has been cut. Hong leaves Polo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Polo. Polo dives in and grabs Hong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hong pushes down on Polo's head and hops out. Hong scores with a nice strike. A nice inside leg kick there by Hong. That's going to slow Polo down. Hong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Polo tries to clinch but Hong is having none of it. Hong scores with a jab. Polo acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Polo is rocked! Hong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Polo is still on wobbly legs! Can Hong finish him? Polo dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Polo seems to have recovered his senses. Hong scores with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice jab there from Polo. Hong keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polo throws a sloppy head kick and Hong moves out of range easily. Hong scores with a hook to the body. Polo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Some bone on bone action there as Hong checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Hong throws out a powerful jab. Hong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hong lands a leg kick that knocks Polo off balance momentarily. Polo staying out of range there. Polo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A big right from Hong misses. Hong misses with a head kick.
Hong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. An inside leg kick lands from Hong. Polo tries a head kick but it misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hong misses with a looping right. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hong, as that shot connected.
Hong misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Polo tries to clinch up. Polo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hong.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hong ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Polo throws a sloppy head kick and Hong moves out of range easily. Polo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hong throws out the jab. Hong sets himself, and Polo steps forward looking for the clinch! Hong avoids it this time. Hong lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hong scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Polo doesn't seem bothered though. Polo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Polo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polo somewhat. Nichi Hong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Polo. Polo tries to clinch up but Hong circles away and keeps his distance. Polo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hong connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Polo scrambles back to his feet.
That has opened up Marco Polo's cut even more. Hong is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hong connects with a good right hand that stumbles Polo. Polo circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Hong throws the left hand but Polo avoids the punch easily. Polo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Hong fails to land the takedown. Hong fakes the leg kick and cracks Polo in the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hong blocks a head kick by Polo.
Hong misses with a hook. Hong scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Polo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hong.
Polo blocks a head kick by Hong.
Hong circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Polo drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Hong follows Polo to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nichi Hong! Nichi Hong took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Machine Fight Gear for their support in the buildup to the fight.
