Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gil Walton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeremiah David!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walton dives in for a single leg takedown but David sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Walton shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has David pinned against the cage. David gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
David throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A nice combination there by Walton.
Walton tries to close the distance and clinch up but David swats him away and circles back towards the center.

David dives in and scores a takedown into Walton's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

David stands up and waves to Walton to follow him.
David avoids the head kick by Walton.
Walton takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
David throws a series of punches but Walton moves out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Walton works over David's head and body with a nice combination.

David shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
David wants to pass the guard but Walton is keeping the position.
David trying to control the position from guard on top but Walton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
David is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Walton wants to stand but David is controlling the position.
Walton is looking to stand back up but David counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Walton.

David working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
David wants to free his trapped foot but Walton is holding on for dear life with his legs.

David is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Walton!

David jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Walton is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Walton and David has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Walton is looking to get back to his feet here but David is keeping cool and he's managed to take Walton's back.

David is persistently looking for the submission but Walton is defending it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
David is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. David gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. David gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. David apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Walton checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

David instigates a clinch.
Walton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
David is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Walton is defending well.
David misses with a punch to the body.
Walton is trying to break the clinch but David is controlling him.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Walton blocks a body shot from David.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walton is trying to break free.
Walton is trying to break the clinch but David has him pressed against the cage.

David escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
David is looking to land body kicks.
Walton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. David tries to avoid it but Walton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag David to the ground. David escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gil Walton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
David slips a jab and a cross from Walton.
No luck with that takedown attempt from David.
It looked like Walton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
David has a takedown stuffed.

Walton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
David tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremiah David dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Walton misses with a jab, cross combination.

Excellent takedown into side control there by David.

David has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
David fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

David gets a takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Walton wants to get back to his feet.
Walton is looking to control David's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walton avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walton is trying to stand back up but David is controlling him

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
David scoring with punches to the head and body.
David makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.


Walton is rocked!
David works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Oh Walton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
David is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Walton!
Walton seems to have got his legs back now.
Walton tries to hold on but David pushes him away.
David has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walton is trying to stand.
Walton regains half guard.
Walton trying to hold on to David's head to control him but David postures up.
Well, if David is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

David working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
David trying to control the action but Walton is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David is looking to advance position but Walton won't allow it.
Walton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
David wants to control but Walton is keeping him busy.
David tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Walton is looking to control David's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walton avoid being mounted?
David tries to pass the half guard into mount. Walton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

David moves into range and clinches up with Walton.
David is trying to pull guard but Walton turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Walton breaks from the clinch.
David shoots in looking for a takedown. Walton tries to sprawl out of it but David keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gil Walton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah David.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Walton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
David is staying active underneath Walton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Walton prevents David from standing back up.

David tries to get to full guard but Walton has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremiah David showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Walton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Walton checks the leg kick nicely there.
Walton looks to land a combination but David avoids it well.
David unleashes a big counter combination but Walton bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

David gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
David has Walton pressed against the cage, preventing Walton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
David is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Walton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Walton stops a takedown attempt from David.
Walton effectively controlling the action here.

David lands a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
David trying to control but Walton is working from the bottom.

David postures up in Walton's guard and throws a big left but Walton blocks it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
David fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Walton avoids it really well and circles away.
Gil Walton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremiah David.

David shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than David was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Walton wants to control but David postures up.
Walton gets back to half guard.
Walton wants to get back to his feet.
David is controlling the pace.
Walton is looking for a sweep. David is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Walton moves into full guard.
Jeremiah David has got the better of the ground game so far.
David postures up.
David throws a big elbow that misses.
Walton trying to keep a closed guard but David is proving a slippery customer.
Walton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
David is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

David gets to his feet. Walton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Walton moves in looking to clinch but David pushes him off.
David tries to counter by closing the distance.
A head kick misses from Walton.
Walton dives in and grabs David's left leg, looking for a takedown. David pushes down on Walton's head and hops out.
David shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Walton pinned against the cage. Walton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gil Walton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
David tries a head kick but it misses.
Walton takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Gil Walton has been cut.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but David paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Walton doesn't succeed with the takedown
and David counters with a big right hand! Oh Walton is in trouble here! David follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeremiah David!
