Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Evans is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Evans!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reynolds pinned against the cage. Reynolds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Evans displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reynolds.
Evans throws a nice looking combination but Reynolds bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Reynolds tries to keep at a distance but Evans has taken the fight into the clinch.

Evans gets control of Reynolds's arms and successfully pulls guard. Evans will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Evans is pulling down on Reynolds's head to control his posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reynolds got a little sloppy there for a moment and Evans has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reynolds has managed to get both his arms back between Evans's legs - danger averted.

Evans is looking to stand up but Reynolds isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Reynolds is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Evans is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Evans has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Evans works over Reynolds with some ground and pound from guard.
Reynolds is trying to hold Evans in close to prevent damage but Evans has managed to pass into half guard.
Reynolds is trying to get back to full guard.
Evans is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Reynolds!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Evans cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Reynolds is trying to escape the mount.

Reynolds tries to hold on but Evans pushes him away.
Evans lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Evans sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Evans lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reynolds hang on?

Reynolds is working hard here to advance position.

Evans looking to control but Reynolds is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Reynolds tries to reverse the position but Evans maintains control.

Well, if Evans is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Evans is trying to control the action in half guard but Reynolds is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Evans is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reynolds's half guard.
Evans seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reynolds does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Evans tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Reynolds.
Reynolds is trying to get back to full guard.

Evans is looking to advance position but Reynolds won't allow it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Reynolds scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Reynolds misses with a body kick.
Evans let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Evans as Reynolds shoots in.
Reynolds tries to score a power double leg takedown but Evans sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reynolds somewhat.
Evans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Reynolds closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Reynolds pushes Evans against the cage but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Reynolds. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evans loads up on a big right hand but Reynolds slips the punch.
Reynolds wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Reynolds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Reynolds doesn't manage to clinch there - Evans circles away.
Evans swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sam Reynolds is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Evans pulls Reynolds into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Evans holds on and takes a little breather.
Evans has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Reynolds looking to sit in guard and control but Evans gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Evans seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Reynolds on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reynolds tries to get out of the position.

Evans would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Reynolds wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Evans slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Reynolds looking for a guillotine here but Evans defends easily.
Evans wants to stand but Reynolds is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reynolds trying to keep a closed guard but Evans is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Paul Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Evans gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Reynolds decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Evans's guard.

Evans has his foot on Reynolds's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reynolds works his way back into a safe position though.

Evans looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Evans has momentary wrist control but Reynolds slips an elbow through the middle.

Reynolds slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Evans wants to clinch up but Reynolds keeps it at a distance.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Evans throws a right and a left that Reynolds avoids nicely.

Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Reynolds misses with a strike from the bottom.
Evans tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Reynolds takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Evans wants to control but Reynolds is keeping him busy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sam Reynolds.
Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
