TWGC 13 (135lbs, D3): New York Qualifier - Round 1 PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Michael Collins and Gale Snoats. Collins's entrance music is I'm Shipping Up To Boston - Dropkick Murphys. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Michael Collins! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Gale Snoats! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Snoats rushes Collins and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Snoats drags the fight down to the ground.
Snoats is adopting a defensive guard. Snoats working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Collins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Collins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Snoats pulls Collins in close to his closed guard and prevents Collins from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snoats is continuing to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Snoats to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Collins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Snoats pulls down on the head and he's put Collins to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gale Snoats! |
