Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Ken Wormst and Raphael Swanson . Wormst comes to the cage accompanied by Village People - YMCA. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ken Wormst! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Raphael Swanson ! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Swanson has Wormst up against the cage in a clinch.
Wormst is trying to pull guard but Swanson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Wormst changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Swanson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wormst shoots in but no luck this time. Swanson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Wormst. That's going to take a lot out of him. Swanson tries to clinch but Wormst moves out of range. Swanson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Swanson stuffs the takedown. Swanson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Swanson tries to clinch but Wormst is having none of it. Swanson tries to clinch up but Wormst circles away and keeps his distance. Swanson tries to clinch up. Raphael Swanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wormst moves into the clinch successfully.
Swanson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Swanson gets control of Wormst's arms and successfully pulls guard. Swanson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swanson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Wormst throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Swanson 's body to avoid the submission. Swanson has instead reached around Wormst's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Swanson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
