The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Schultz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schultz wants to control from the top but Schnider keeps moving. Schultz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schnider swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schnider looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Schultz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Schnider looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Schultz is defending well. Schnider quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Schultz has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission!
