Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
45 - 34 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Vladik Fedotov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 69 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Veli Schwarzeneg! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwarzeneg shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fedotov is positioning himself well to prevent Schwarzeneg advancing to mount. Fedotov is looking to escape. Fedotov tries to get to full guard but Schwarzeneg has control of the leg. Schwarzeneg thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schwarzeneg throwing shots but Fedotov is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schwarzeneg stalling away here and it's allowed Fedotov to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Schwarzeneg decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Schwarzeneg shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fedotov defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fedotov slaps away a takedown attempt from Schwarzeneg, before circling back to the center of the mat. Schwarzeneg shoots in for a double leg but Fedotov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vladik Fedotov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Veli Schwarzeneg. Schwarzeneg shoots in looking for a takedown but Fedotov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Schwarzeneg's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fedotov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fedotov tries to counter by clinching up but Schwarzeneg breaks away and moves out of range. Vladik Fedotov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fedotov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Schwarzeneg has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Schwarzeneg and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Schwarzeneg shoots in and drives through. Fedotov sprawls well. Fedotov wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown but Fedotov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fedotov tries to counter by clinching up but Schwarzeneg breaks away and moves out of range. Schwarzeneg shoots for a double leg takedown but Fedotov sprawls well. He's pushed Schwarzeneg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Fedotov tries to counter by clinching up but Schwarzeneg breaks away and moves out of range. Schwarzeneg has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Schwarzeneg looks winded! Schwarzeneg rushes Fedotov and presses him up against the cage. Schwarzeneg wants a takedown but no success here.
Schwarzeneg goes for a takedown attempt but Fedotov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fedotov sprawls well. Fedotov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Schwarzeneg gets slowly back to his feet. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schwarzeneg with a poor takedown and Fedotov moves into the clinch. Fedotov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schwarzeneg backwards. Schwarzeneg drops down looking for an ankle pick but Fedotov pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Fedotov. Fedotov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A short left from Fedotov. Fedotov scores with a shot to the side of Schwarzeneg's head. Schwarzeneg tries to score a body lock takedown but Fedotov shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Fedotov scores with a shoulder strike. Fedotov lands a shoulder strike. Schwarzeneg successfully pulls guard.
Fedotov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Fedotov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Fedotov clinches up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fedotov lands a nice uppercut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schwarzeneg wants a takedown.
Schwarzeneg wants to take the fight to the mat but Fedotov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A short right from Fedotov on the inside. Schwarzeneg drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fedotov lands a body punch. Schwarzeneg takes a knee right on the jaw!
Schwarzeneg tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fedotov smiles and moves away.
Schwarzeneg gets tackled into the cage by Fedotov. Fedotov maintains the clinch. Schwarzeneg tries for a takedown. No joy.

Vladik Fedotov dominated that round. The cut man is working on Veli Schwarzeneg's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fedotov dips a shoulder and cracks Schwarzeneg with a mighty uppercut! Schwarzeneg falls back against the cage and Fedotov unloads with a barrage of strikes! Schwarzeneg is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Fedotov screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
