Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derick Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and vic jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). vic jensen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derick Hess! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, vic jensen! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! jensen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. jensen trying to control from half guard but Hess is working away. Hess moves into full guard.
Hess looking for a sweep. Not yet Hess, not yet. Hess knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for jensen on the ground. jensen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. jensen wants to control from the top but Hess keeps moving. Hess is looking to sweep but instead, jensen has passed into half guard.
Hess is trying to stand.
jensen is trying to work for a kimura but Hess is defending well.
Hess kicks jensen off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hess doesn't succeed with the takedown and jensen counters with a takedown into side control. Hess is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on jensen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Hess actively working from the bottom here. jensen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hess does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hess tries to kick jensen off in order to stand up. jensen Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. jensen scores with a couple of short elbows. jensen cracks Hess with a big right hand but Hess just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. jensen is working Hess over with some ground and pound from side control. Hess gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hess looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hess is breathing heavily. jensen lands with a punch from half guard. Well, if jensen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hess is looking to improve his position.
jensen is trying to work for a kimura but Hess is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. jensen prevents Hess from standing back up.
Still in half guard, jensen seems content to control. Hess is defending against the submission attempts here by jensen.
Hess is looking for a sweep. jensen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. jensen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hess defends it well. Hess is trying to get back to full guard. jensen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. jensen stops Hess from getting back to his feet.
jensen wants to take a breather but Hess is having none of it. jensen working over Hess with some ground and pound. Hess looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. jensen wants to take a breather but Hess is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hess tries to kick jensen off but jensen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A combination from Hess does no damage. jensen scores a takedown into full mount! Hess is squirming around, avoiding jensen's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hess tries to bum rush jensen with a series of wild strikes but jensen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hess tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but jensen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hess moves in looking to clinch but jensen pushes him off. Hess lands with a nice combination. jensen backs away looking to recover. jensen walks into a stiff left hand from Hess. Hess misses with a body shot.
jensen fails to land the takedown. Hess gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and jensen counters with a takedown into side control. Hess is not content to let jensen control the position. jensen takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Hess to pass into mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hess wants to get back to his feet.
jensen working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hess is trying desperately to improve position. jensen lands a big shot there that rocks Hess but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
jensen looking for a guillotine from mount but Hess is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. jensen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. jensen wants to finish this one by submission but Hess is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from jensen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hess is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise? Hess sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Hess is not content to let jensen control the position. Hess looking for submissions off his back. Hess has hold of jensen's hands but jensen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hess is trying to stand back up but jensen is controlling him
Hess is staying active underneath jensen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. jensen stops Hess from getting back to his feet.
jensen has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hess defend it? jensen steps over the head and cranks it - Hess is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for jensen!
