The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jones tries to land a front kick but Martin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Martin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jones scrambles back to his feet.

and Martin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Martin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It looks like Martin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Martin cracks Jones with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Jones tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Martin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Jones is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
