PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonqw Fray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allen LeFleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allen LeFleur will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonqw Fray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allen LeFleur!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fray throws a body shot but no joy.
LeFleur avoids the head kick by Fray.
Fray throws a lazy uppercut
and LeFleur counters with a stiff right hand.
LeFleur avoids the body shot from Fray.
Fray has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mello MMA in the buildup to the fight.

Fray scores with a takedown into LeFleur's guard.
Fray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. LeFleur swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fray wants to control from the top but LeFleur keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fray tries to free his leg and advance position but LeFleur is retaining full guard.
Fray in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Fray postures up in LeFleur's guard and throws a big left but LeFleur blocks it.
Fray throws a strike but LeFleur rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Fray throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! LeFleur escapes and throws Fray's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Fray wants to control but LeFleur postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fray is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because LeFleur is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

LeFleur has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and LeFleur counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fray throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Fray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fray throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
LeFleur scores with a nice head shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
LeFleur scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fray doesn't seem bothered though.

Fray with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling LeFleur to score with a decent uppercut.

LeFleur lands with an uppercut that bounces Fray off the cage and back into range.

LeFleur has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Fray is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and LeFleur defends it well.
LeFleur is staying active underneath Fray, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fray seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but LeFleur does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fray tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fray has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fray fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but LeFleur avoids it really well and circles away.

Fray throws a solid leg kick but LeFleur takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Fray.

Fray throws a hook to the side of LeFleur's head but LeFleur sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
LeFleur just misses with a punch to the body.
Fray throws a body punch but LeFleur moves out of range.
Fray looks to score with a jab to the body but LeFleur is just out of range.

Fray ducks down and throws a hook to the body but LeFleur moves away.

Fray stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
LeFleur walks into a straight right hand from Fray.
Fray walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Jonqw Fray has been cut.
LeFleur leaves Fray with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
LeFleur throws out a counter right but Fray avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonqw Fray. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fray shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. LeFleur manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jonqw Fray will probably get the nod.

Jonqw Fray overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fray sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed LeFleur's guard.
