Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Murakami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 26 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Erschov! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murakami drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Erschov misses with a strike from the bottom. Erschov tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Murakami easily slips into full mount! Erschov gets back to half guard. Murakami is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Erschov defends it well. Erschov looking for submissions off his back. Erschov wants to improve his position but Murakami is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Erschov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Erschov is pressing down on Murakami's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murakami trying to control the position from guard on top but Erschov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Erschov has his foot on Murakami's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murakami works his way back into a safe position though. Erschov keeping moving, preventing Murakami from controlling successfully. Erschov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Murakami is aware though and is defending well. Erschov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Erschov has his foot on Murakami's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murakami works his way back into a safe position though. Erschov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Murakami rolls with it to try and escape but Erschov cranks on the arm and Murakami is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
