The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers throws a series of punches but TupperIII avoids them all with ease. Rogers looking to score a takedown here. TupperIII is defending well but Rogers drives through and ends up in TupperIII's guard. TupperIII wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. TupperIII is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

It's a bit of a token attempt though and TupperIII regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Rogers throws a right hand that TupperIII ducks under and follows up with a left that TupperIII also avoids with ease. TupperIII feinted with a counter takedown. TupperIII tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Rogers is looking for the big counter here. TupperIII dives in for a single leg takedown but Rogers sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A momentary lapse in concentration from TupperIII enables Rogers to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. TupperIII manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. TupperIII is staying active underneath Rogers, who seems content to just control the action from this position. TupperIII tries to roll over but Rogers keeps him under control.
