Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bee Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Griffin has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bee Jay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jay avoiding damage.

Jay throws a knee to the head but misses.
Griffin is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jay is defending well.
Griffin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin wants to take the fight to the mat but Jay manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Bee Jay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Griffin.

It looks like Chris Griffin has been cut.
Jay makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Jay throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Griffin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jay defends it well.

Griffin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jay is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Griffin is trying to drag Jay to the mat but Jay just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jay throws a low kick but Griffin moves out of range easily.
Jay is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Jay throws out a loose jab but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Griffin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jay connects with a solid leg kick.
Griffin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jay can pounce on him.
Jay fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Griffin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bee Jay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jay swings away with a leg kick that misses.
And Griffin tries to counter it with a takedown but Jay pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Jay uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffin has time to react.

Griffin has closed the distance and engaged Jay in a clinch.

Griffin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jay avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jay is pressed up against the cage. Griffin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jay down to the mat. Jay avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Griffin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jay quickly recovers to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jay is trying to maintain the position but Griffin is very close to passing his half guard.

That's time! Jay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jay leaves Griffin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Griffin tries to get set, Jay tries to push him back and clinch up but Griffin manages to avoid the attempt.
Griffin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jay swivels and escapes.

Bee Jay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Griffin.

The fighters circling - Jay throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Griffin shoots in but Jay avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Jay throws a hook but Griffin avoids it easily.
Jay throws a nice outside leg kick.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jay's waist but Jay gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.

Griffin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jay isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Griffin stacks Jay on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Griffin!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Griffin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jay pinned against the cage. Jay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jay seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Griffin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Griffin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jay is fending him off so far but Griffin persists. Nope, Jay circles away and we're back to standing.

Jay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That kick from Jay tenderised Griffin's leg. Griffin is trying to keep his angry face on.

Bee Jay showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jay, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Bee Jay opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
