PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice clinches with his opponent.
Slice drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kozlov prevents a body shot from Slice.
Slice changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kozlov fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Slice counters by moving into the clinch.

Slice breaks from the clinch.
Slice looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Kozlov counters by clinching up.
Slice wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kozlov has him pressed against the cage.

Kozlov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kozlov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Slice's waist but Slice gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kozlov off to one side.
Igor Kozlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Slice fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kozlov lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Slice misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kozlov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slice swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kozlov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Slice doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kozlov.
Kozlov wants to stand up but Slice has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kozlov wants to take a breather but Slice is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Slice tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Slice could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kozlov wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.

Kozlov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Slice accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Slice drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kozlov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slice has Kozlov in his guard.

Kozlov gets to his feet. Slice looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Slice keeps the fight on the outside.
Slice tries to clinch up.
Kozlov misses with a double jab.

Kozlov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kozlov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Slice is looking for a sweep.
Slice wants to control but Kozlov postures up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Igor Kozlov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kozlov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slice manages to get himself to full guard.

Slice looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slice can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kozlov is looking to escape.

Slice jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kozlov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kozlov and Slice has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Igor Kozlov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kozlov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
