PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aleks Breznhev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Rizal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Breznhev comes to the ring accompanied by Death Grips - No Love. Rizal has chosen urbandub - hover as his entrance music. Jose Rizal will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleks Breznhev!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jose Rizal!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rizal misses with a hook.

Rizal's coach down at Plant works was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rizal's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Rizal missing with a left hand there. Breznhev was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Breznhev scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Breznhev is nestled in close to Rizal, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Breznhev is just content to waste time from the top position. Rizal takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Breznhev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rizal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Breznhev has managed to get both his arms back between Rizal's legs - danger averted.

Breznhev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rizal with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Breznhev connects with a nice short shot to Rizal's temple.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Breznhev here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A very excited looking Jose Rizal made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Aleks Breznhev stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fuck'.
