Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Jean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurt Angle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Jean!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jean throws out a powerful jab.
Jean fails in his attempt to clinch.

Angle moves into the clinch.
Angle lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jean.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Angle.
Angle fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jean is looking to break free of the clinch but Angle has double underhooks.
Angle has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jean is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jean drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Angle gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Angle drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Angle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Angle has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Angle pulls Jean into guard.

Angle is looking for a triangle but Jean pushes his legs off easily.

Jean drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Angle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jean has Angle in his guard.


Jean escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Angle gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Angle stays in close to Jean's body and controls the position.
Jean looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jean should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Angle stands up over Jean, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jean looking to control.

Angle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Angle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Angle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jean bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Angle's guard.


Jean got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angle has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jean has managed to get both his arms back between Angle's legs - danger averted.
Angle pulls Jean in to control the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Angle is on top in guard.

Jean tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jean gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jean leaves Angle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jean looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Angle rushes Jean and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jean misses with an elbow strike.

Angle is trying to break the clinch but Jean has him pressed against the cage.

Jean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Angle goes for a double leg but Jean avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jean continues to drive forward.

and Angle counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jean tries to close the distance and clinch up but Angle swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jean is breathing heavily.
Angle connects with a body shot that sends Jean's belly button to the back.

and Angle counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Jean is looking to take this one to the mat.

Angle's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Jean is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Angle has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jean uses from the top position.

Angle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jean defends it easily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Angle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jean as he jumps to the side.

As Jean looks to move away, Angle throws a big counter combo but Jean just gets out of the way.
Ben Jean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Angle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jean throws a looping overhand right but Angle ducks down to avoid it.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Jean throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Angle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kurt Angle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jean thows a left - swing and a miss!

Ben Jean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Angle has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
