Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Peavris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Duckworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Desmond Duckworth!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duckworth throws a right and a left that Peavris avoids nicely.
Peavris feinted there with a counter leg kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Duckworth has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Duckworth drops his hands momentarily and Peavris takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Desmond Duckworth has been cut.
Peavris throws a nice looking combination but Duckworth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Duckworth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peavris has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Duckworth to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Peavris is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Duckworth pulls down on the head and he's put Peavris to sleep! This one is all over!
