Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Chernishev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladlen Nikolaevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Chernishev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladlen Nikolaevich!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaevich tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Chernishev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Chernishev displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Nikolaevich shoots for a double leg takedown but Chernishev sprawls well. He's pushed Nikolaevich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chernishev drops down looking for a counter takedown but Nikolaevich sprawls and moves away.
Chernishev is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Chernishev goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chernishev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nikolaevich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chernishev has managed to get both his arms back between Nikolaevich's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chernishev content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chernishev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nikolaevich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chernishev has managed to get both his arms back between Nikolaevich's legs - danger averted.

Nikolaevich has momentary wrist control but Chernishev slips an elbow through the middle.

Nikolaevich is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Chernishev is in close to Nikolaevich's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Chernishev cracks Nikolaevich with a solid left hand.
Chernishev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chernishev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nikolaevich works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Chernishev is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chernishev connects with a nice short shot to Nikolaevich's temple.
Nikolaevich is still in real trouble! Can Chernishev finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chernishev lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Nikolaevich quite badly. Nikolaevich pulls Chernishev in close trying to recover. Chernishev postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Nikolaevich on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Nikolaevich doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergey Chernishev!
