Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Smith is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Smith! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smith is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Davis with a body shot. Davis lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Jack Smith has been cut. Davis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing. Davis rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Davis prevents a takedown attempt there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Davis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith trying to strike off his back.
Davis trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davis's guard. Smith lands a couple of decent looking shots. Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Smith working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Davis looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Davis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smith escapes and throws Davis's legs to the side, diving into side control! Smith is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Davis is trying to escape and Smith transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Davis is forced to tap! Nice work there by Smith! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Smith! A relieved looking Jack Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
