Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chas Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marween Santos! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Santos shoots in and bounces Coleman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Coleman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Coleman is trying to control the position but Santos postures up. Santos wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving. Coleman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Santos controls the pace. Coleman thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Coleman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Santos won't allow Coleman to sweep him here. Santos wanted to stand there but Coleman had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos sitting in guard here, content to control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Coleman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Santos forces Coleman back against the cage and clinches. Santos gets a trip takedown into half guard. Coleman punching from the bottom.
Santos is taking a breather. Coleman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Coleman wants to control but Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Coleman punching from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos is trying to work for a kimura but Coleman is defending well.
Santos is thwarting Coleman's attempts to control the position. Coleman tries to get to full guard but Santos has control of the leg. Santos decides to stand up. Santos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Coleman! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Coleman throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman wants to control but Santos postures up. Coleman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Santos's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Santos! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Coleman has tapped! This one is allllll over!
