Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Katu Partio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Verner Stolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Partio comes into the arena with Kolmetoista kertaa kovempi kuin kukaan blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Katu Partio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Verner Stolt!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partio lands with a nice body kick.
Partio fakes the leg kick and cracks Stolt in the body.
Partio slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Stolt throws a lazy uppercut
and Partio makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Stolt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stolt throws a right hand that Partio ducks under and follows up with a left that Partio also avoids with ease.
Partio scores with the left hand. Stolt knows he should have avoided that one.
Partio lands a leg kick that knocks Stolt off balance momentarily.
Stolt connects with a crisp jab.
It looks like Katu Partio has been cut.
Stolt throws a lazy head kick
and Partio counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've been informed that Stolt has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Partio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Partio is pushing down on Stolt's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stolt is fighting to maintain full guard but Partio has managed to sneak the leg through.

Partio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stolt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Partio is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Partio misses with a takedown attempt - Stolt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

That's time! Partio's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Partio seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Stolt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stolt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Partio clinches up with Stolt and pushes him back against the cage.
Partio tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Partio successfully pulls guard.
Stolt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Partio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stolt has managed to get both his arms back between Partio's legs - danger averted.
Partio is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stolt wants to stand but Partio has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Partio is looking for a triangle here but Stolt uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stolt stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Partio tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stolt defends well and Partio ends up having to push Stolt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Partio fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stolt.

The crowd cheers as Stolt lands an impressive looking overhand right. Partio doesn't seem phased though.

Stolt throws a series of strikes that have Partio backpedaling.
Stolt takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Stolt throws a shot from downtown. Partio moves away and avoids it.

Katu Partio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Partio connects with a leg kick. Stolt looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Stolt lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Partio backs up against the cage.
A slow jab from Partio misses its intended target.
Partio dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stolt. That did some damage!
Partio thuds his right hand into Stolt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Verner Stolt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Katu Partio's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Partio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Partio changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stolt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Stolt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Partio is controlling him well.

Partio has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Stolt is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Partio yanks on the arm and Stolt is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Partio.

A very excited looking Katu Partio rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
