Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifton Von Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Von Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Day of Anger. Clifton Von Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Clifton Von Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Barrera! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Barrera. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Barrera. Von Lee on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barrera. Barrera obviously looking to wear him down.
Von Lee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Von Lee misses with an uppercut. Barrera saw that one coming. Von Lee looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Barrera throws a body punch but Von Lee moves out of range. Barrera ducks under a wild hook from Von Lee. A combination from Barrera does no damage. Barrera blocks a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrera looks to land a left hand but Von Lee moved out of range nicely. Barrera takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A looping hook to the body misses from Von Lee. Barrera does a little dance to reset his feet. Barrera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Von Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barrera manages to avoid it. Barrera misses with a low kick.

and Von Lee makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Barrera scoring well with a low kick there.
Von Lee throws a leg kick but Barrera checks it. A nice side step and Barrera releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Von Lee swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Barrera swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Barrera ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Von Lee moves away. Von Lee has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight. Von Lee lands a leg kick that knocks Barrera off balance momentarily. Von Lee tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Barrera is able to avoid easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Von Lee throws a shot to the body.
Mario Barrera is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Barrera uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Von Lee. Barrera is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Von Lee takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Barrera lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Von Lee avoids the body shot from Barrera.
Barrera takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Von Lee checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mario Barrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrera looks to land a left hand but Von Lee moved out of range nicely. Von Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Barrera. Barrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Von Lee.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera throws a half hearted mid kick. It looked like Von Lee wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Barrera misses with a looping left. Von Lee takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Barrera throws a leg kick which misses Von Lee's front leg but catches the back leg as Von Lee tries to avoid it. Von Lee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barrera's guard. Von Lee content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Barrera pulls Von Lee in to control the position. Von Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barrera works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Barrera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Von Lee's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrera utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Von Lee wants to control from the top but Barrera keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Barrera jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Von Lee moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Barrera throws out a token jab with nothing on it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Von Lee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Von Lee throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Barrera works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Clifton Von Lee will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Von Lee throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barrera was covering up waiting for the punch and Von Lee finishes the takedown easily into guard. Barrera keeping moving, preventing Von Lee from controlling successfully. Barrera has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Von Lee trying to control but Barrera is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barrera avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Von Lee is looking to work some ground and pound but Barrera has wrist control. Von Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Von Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Barrera keeping moving, preventing Von Lee from controlling successfully.

Von Lee throws a front kick aimed at Barrera's knee but Barrera avoids it well. Von Lee scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Barrera misses with a two punch combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Barrera is looking to land body kicks. Von Lee does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Barrera let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Von Lee looks to land a right hand but Barrera moved out of range. Von Lee wants to land a leg kick but Barrera is out of range. Barrera connects with a leg kick. Von Lee looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Von Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barrera scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barrera takes one on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Clifton Von Lee will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Von Lee misses with a takedown attempt - Barrera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Von Lee checks a leg kick nicely. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Barrera looking for a sweep. Not yet Barrera, not yet. Von Lee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barrera is on top in guard.

Von Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy. Von Lee looking to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Barrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Von Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barrera throws a looping overhand right but Von Lee ducks down to avoid it. Von Lee appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Von Lee lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barrera at a distance.
Barrera pushes Von Lee away with a front kick. Barrera tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Von Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Barrera. Von Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barrera tries to avoid it but Von Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barrera to the ground. Barrera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Barrera crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Von Lee - the referee stops the clock and Barrera gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Von Lee. Barrera manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Barrera misses with a hook
and Von Lee cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Von Lee avoids the body shot from Barrera.
An attempted straight right counter from Von Lee misses the target. Barrera thuds his right hand into Von Lee's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Von Lee throws out a leg kick but Barrera moves out of range and Von Lee only half commits. Von Lee will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Von Lee misses the shot to the body. Barrera swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Von Lee connects with a crisp jab. Von Lee misses with a body kick. Barrera looks to score with a jab to the body but Von Lee is just out of range. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Von Lee, right into the meat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barrera misses with a body kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Von Lee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Barrera sprawls well. Barrera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Von Lee gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mario Barrera. I think Von Lee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
