Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arek Szlesz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiko Gardeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiko Gardeau will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arek Szlesz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiko Gardeau! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Szlesz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gardeau drives through with a takedown into guard. Gardeau drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Szlesz dives on top into guard. Szlesz wanted to stand there but Gardeau had control of the position. Szlesz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Szlesz wants to stand and escape but instead Gardeau has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Szlesz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Szlesz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gardeau is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Szlesz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gardeau's back instead. Gardeau is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Szlesz gets his way!
Szlesz is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardeau turns into Szlesz and is now in his guard.
Gardeau drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gardeau jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gardeau decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Szlesz, up you get! Szlesz with a lazy takedown attempt so Gardeau counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gardeau drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gardeau jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gardeau thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Szlesz is trying to keep Gardeau in close.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gardeau won't allow Szlesz to sweep him here. Szlesz is trying to control the position but Gardeau postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gardeau stands up and waves to Szlesz to follow him. Szlesz wants to clinch but Gardeau slips to the side and Gardeau counters with a nice double leg into side control. Szlesz won't be happy with that. Szlesz is trying to control Gardeau's posture but Gardeau avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gardeau tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gardeau has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gardeau trying to control the position but Szlesz is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Szlesz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Szlesz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gardeau on the ground. Szlesz makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Gardeau shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gardeau showed some decent athleticism there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gardeau working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tiko Gardeau dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Szlesz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Szlesz is working for a kimura but Gardeau is defending it quite comfortably.
Szlesz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gardeau is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Szlesz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Szlesz's back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardeau is working for a rear naked choke. Szlesz is not defending it well and Gardeau has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Szlesz refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Szlesz's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tiko Gardeau!
