Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Shimmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimmy has chosen God Save The Queen as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andre Galvao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Shimmy!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvao misses with a hook
and Shimmy counters with a straight right hand.
Shimmy scores with a jab to the jaw.
Shimmy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Galvao drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shimmy sprawls and moves away.
Shimmy misses with a hook. Galvao ducked under it nicely.
Galvao seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Galvao has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

As Shimmy tries to get set, Galvao tries to push him back and clinch up but Shimmy manages to avoid the attempt.
Shimmy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Galvao was well out of range. Poor timing from Shimmy.
Shimmy's coach down at Island Top Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shimmy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Shimmy scores with a hook to the body. Galvao takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Shimmy. Galvao does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Galvao thows a leg kick but Shimmy checks it
and Shimmy counters with a left to the body.
Bob Shimmy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shimmy swings for the body but Galvao moves out of range.
Shimmy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Galvao manages to avoid it.

Shimmy connects with a right hand. Galvao shakes it off.
Shimmy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Galvao takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Shimmy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Galvao.
Shimmy scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Galvao misses with a left hand
and Shimmy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Galvao moves into the clinch.

Shimmy pushes Galvao back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Shimmy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Shimmy lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Galvao jumps guard but Shimmy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

A nice right hand lands inside from Shimmy.

Shimmy lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Galvao backwards.
Galvao is trying to pull guard but Shimmy turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Galvao jumps guard and drags Shimmy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Shimmy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Galvao escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shimmy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Galvao is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Galvao is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Shimmy frees his head nicely. Oh but Galvao has switched to an armbar! Shimmy is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
