The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shady clinches with his opponent.

Grant is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shady is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Grant to the mat. Grant regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Grant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shady gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Grant wants to stand up but Shady is controlling him.

Grant is looking for a triangle but Shady pushes his legs off easily.

We've been hearing that Shady has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Grant bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shady's guard.

Grant is looking to pass into half guard but Shady pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Shady is in guard.

Shady is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Grant has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Shady is looking to defend but Grant has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shady! Grant pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shady taps out and this one is all over!
