Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Divock Origi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big J Smiles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Origi comes to the cage accompanied by Run this town tonight . Smiles has chosen Smile Like You Mean It as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiles tries to clinch there but Origi circles away.

Smiles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

I was talking to Origi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smiles has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Origi is landing a low percentage of strikes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Smiles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Smiles moves out of range of the body kick from Origi.

No joy there for Origi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smiles shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smiles wants to clinch but Origi slips to the side
and Origi counters with a nice uppercut.
Smiles is rocked!
Origi finds Smiles's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Smiles flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Origi lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Smiles will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Divock Origi!
Divock Origi got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
