Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marlon Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuhar Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marlon Gibbs could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nuhar Brooks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marlon Gibbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nuhar Brooks! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibbs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brooks with the counter takedown but Gibbs avoids it easily. Gibbs throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Brooks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gibbs moves into the clinch. Gibbs drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gibbs manages to pull guard.
Gibbs controlling Brooks's posture. Gibbs tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gibbs managing to control the position. Gibbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brooks on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks trying to control but Gibbs is working from the bottom. Gibbs is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Gibbs is looking to stand up but Brooks isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Brooks darts in and clinches Gibbs up against the cage. Brooks looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gibbs misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Brooks.
Brooks has Gibbs pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Brooks pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gibbs tumbling to the mat - Brooks dives into Gibbs's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gibbs is looking for a triangle but Brooks pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brooks is fighting to break Gibbs's control of his arms but Gibbs is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gibbs has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Brooks won't allow Gibbs to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Brooks wants to control from the top but Gibbs keeps moving. Gibbs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brooks manages to get himself to full guard.
Gibbs controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gibbs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gibbs is looking to pass into half guard but Brooks pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Brooks is in guard. Brooks won't allow Gibbs to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gibbs has control of Brooks's left arm, preventing Brooks from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooks stopping the sweep attempt from Gibbs. Gibbs looking for subs off his back but Brooks has passed one foot through into half guard.
Gibbs is trying to control but can't.

A close round but Nuhar Brooks will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

The fight moves into the clinch position. Gibbs tries to pull guard but Brooks won't allow it.
Gibbs throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Brookss head. Gibbs is looking for a takedown. Gibbs drags the fight down to the ground.
Brooks has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gibbs is proving hard to escape from. Brooks throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gibbs trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Gibbs throws a right hand that Brooks ducks under and follows up with a left that Brooks also avoids with ease. Brooks wants to counter the offense by Gibbs and move into the clinch position. A punch combination from Brooks misses. Brooks stuffs the takedown attempt from Gibbs. Gibbs gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marlon Gibbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brooks gets a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brooks is trying to force a seperation but Gibbs has the dominant position. Gibbs lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short uppercut from Gibbs. Gibbs gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Brooks regains guard.
Gibbs is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. This is a sustained period of stalling by Gibbs. Gibbs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Brooks trying to control the position.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Brooks manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibbs lands an elbow that stopped Brooks in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Nuhar Brooks has been cut. Gibbs pulls guard successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brooks is fighting to break Gibbs's control of his arms but Gibbs is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Brooks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gibbs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brooks has managed to get both his arms back between Gibbs's legs - danger averted. Gibbs on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gibbs tries to get out of the position. Gibbs is looking for a triangle but Brooks pushes his legs off easily.

Gibbs pushes Brooks off and gets back to his feet. Brooks is breathing heavily. Brooks avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gibbs has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gibbs turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Gibbs tries to advance to mount but Brooks denies him. Gibbs is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brooks's shoulder. That is not cool. Gibbs seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brooks for as long as he can get away with. Brooks tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gibbs bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Brooks's head. Gibbs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gibbs is looking to land body kicks. Gibbs moves into the clinch. A nice right hand lands inside from Gibbs. Brooks is trying to break the clinch but Gibbs is controlling him. Gibbs landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Gibbs lands a right hand. Gibbs lands with a right to the head. Gibbs lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brooks backwards.
Brooks is rocked! Gibbs lands a hook to the side of the head. Brooks is still on wobbly legs! Can Gibbs finish him? Gibbs decides to pull guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibbs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brooks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Brooks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's one minute gone in the round. Brooks looking to sit in guard and control but Gibbs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gibbs controls from within his opponent's guard. Gibbs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brooks can do to turn this around? Brooks takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gibbs postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brooks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gibbs, into his guard. Gibbs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gibbs works his way into side control. Gibbs working the body and head with strikes. Gibbs controls the position. Brooks gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Gibbs moves to the back position. Gibbs working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Gibbs biding his time, looking for the opening.
Gibbs working for the choke. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gibbs lands shots from the back. Gibbs is persistently looking for the submission but Brooks is defending it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbs missing with punches from the back. Brooks is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Gibbs trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Brooks doesn't escape. Brooks is trapped and Gibbs is scoring with shots to the head and body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbs is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Brooks knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Brooks for a finish. Gibbs is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Brooks defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Gibbs looking for the RNC. Gibbs working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Brooks is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Gibbs has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Brooks taps out!
