Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter has chosen Cyprus Hill - Hits From the Bong as his entrance music. Jay Hunter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

38 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Hunter! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter scores with a push kick. Michael Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hunter tries a head kick but it misses.

Hunter scores with a spinning back kick! We've been told by Blake's head coaches at Netherlands Top Team & KT that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Blake fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hunter sprawls well initially but Blake persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Blake prevents Hunter from improving his position. Blake is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hunter has managed to free his arm - good work. Blake seems to be working for a kimura but Hunter defends the submission attempt. Michael Blake dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Blake shoots in for a double leg but Hunter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Blake fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hunter throws a counter combo. Blake avoids the head kick by Hunter.
Blake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hunter can do to turn this around? Blake looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Michael Blake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Blake is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Hunter moves into full guard.
Blake drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blake jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blake tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunter is retaining full guard. Hunter controls Blake momentarily but Blake frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Blake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Blake passes Hunter's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Blake is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunter is just riding it out for now. Blake eventually gives up the hold. Blake is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Blake is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hunter sees it coming and defends easily. Blake maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hunter could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Blake has cracked it and Hunter is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Blake!
