The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grabonzo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Diaz throws a counter combo.

Grabonzo clinches up with Diaz and pushes him back against the cage.

Grabonzo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Grabonzo manages to end up in side control.
Diaz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grabonzo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grabonzo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Grabonzo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Grabonzo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Grabonzo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grabonzo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Diaz looks calm but he's in trouble here. Grabonzo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Diaz is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Grabonzo lets go of the hold and Diaz can pop his arm back in it's socket.
