Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Malingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eddie Malingo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malingo throws a big shot that misses.
Malingo needs to keep his hands up - Atsushii had a free shot at his head there.
Atsushii missing with a left hand there. Malingo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Malingo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Malingo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Malingo counters with a one-two to the body.

and Malingo counters with a single leg into guard. Atsushii didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Atsushii fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Malingo manages to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Malingo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Atsushii looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Atsushii looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Atsushii!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Atsushii bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Malingo's guard.

Let's hope that Malingo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
