Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Darwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Edens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edens connects with a body shot.
Darwin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Darwin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edens's waist but Edens gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Darwin off to one side.
Edens shoots in but Darwin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Edens closes this distance looking for a takedown but Darwin circles away.

so Edens counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Darwin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Edens or perhaps it was just good defense by Darwin which made him look bad.
Darwin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Darwin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Darwin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Edens's face.
Darwin is landing with some decent strikes but Edens is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jordan Edens is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
