The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Flanagan counters with a straight right hand.

and Flanagan counters with a straight right hand.
Silva throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Flanagan counters by moving into the clinch.
Flanagan pushes Silva back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Flanagan takes an elbow to the temple.
Silva is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Flanagan is defending well for now.

Flanagan unleashes a big counter combination but Silva bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Flanagan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Silva tries to score with a low kick but Flanagan moves his leg out of the way.
Silva throws a hook but Flanagan avoids it easily.

Flanagan throws out a counter right but Silva avoids it with no problem.

Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Silva tries to land a front kick but Flanagan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That kick from Flanagan tenderised Silva's leg. Silva is trying to keep his angry face on.
Flanagan moves out of range of the body kick from Silva.
Flanagan throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.

Flanagan walks forward, straight into a front kick from Silva.
Flanagan lands a big head kick that sends Silva tumbling to the mat! Flanagan takes a step backwards and waves Silva back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Flanagan counters with a crisp one two that drops Silva! Flanagan thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Silva to his feet! Silva is in big trouble!
Silva throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Silva lets loose with a powerful body kick. Flanagan will feel that in the morning.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Flanagan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking.

Gilberto Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flanagan moves out of range of the body kick.
Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Flanagan.

and Flanagan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Flanagan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
Flanagan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Silva seems to have got his legs back now.

Walter Flanagan dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Silva moves forwards but Flanagan connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Flanagan blocks a head kick by Silva.
A little jabbing left from Flanagan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt
and Flanagan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Flanagan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Silva doesn't seem bothered though.
Flanagan throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Flanagan avoids it.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flanagan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Flanagan lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've been informed that Flanagan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Flanagan digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Flanagan pushes him off.
Walter Flanagan seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Flanagan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A combination from Flanagan does no damage.

Silva tries to clinch up but Flanagan circles away and keeps his distance.

and Flanagan counters with a stiff right hand.
Flanagan throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Silva crashing down! Silva tries to stagger back to his feet but Flanagan just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Silva asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Flanagan!
After the fight, Walter Flanagan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
