Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harold Harmbe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layne Staley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staley has chosen Junkhead as his entrance music. The key to victory for Harold Harmbe has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harold Harmbe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Layne Staley! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harmbe pushes Staley up against the cage in a clinch. Staley's coach down at Harambe Remembrance Hall was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Staley's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Harmbe taking a breather. Harmbe stalling against the cage.
Harmbe is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Harmbe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Harmbe tries to clinch up but Staley circles away and keeps his distance. And Staley tries to counter it with a takedown but Harmbe pushes his down on his head and steps out. Harmbe gets a clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Staley as Harmbe tries to tie him up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harmbe misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Staley is looking for a takedown. Harmbe breaks the clinch.
Harmbe misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harmbe forces Staley back against the cage and clinches. Harmbe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harmbe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Staley swats him away and circles back towards the center. Staley drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Harmbe defends it well. Harmbe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Staley, pushing him back against the cage. Harmbe is pushing Staley up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Harmbe gets underhooks to prevent Staley's takedown attempt.

Harold Harmbe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Layne Staley. Staley wants to take the fight to the mat but Harmbe manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Harmbe. Harmbe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Harmbe manages to break the clinch.

Harmbe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Staley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Staley tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Staley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Harmbe darts in and clinches Staley up against the cage. Staley is looking for a takedown. Harmbe breaks the clinch.

Staley changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Staley gets tackled into the cage by Harmbe. Harmbe maintains the clinch. Staley blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Harmbe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Harmbe closes the distance but Staley moves to the side and Staley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Harmbe won't be happy with that. Staley has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Harmbe is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Staley yanks on the arm and Harmbe is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Staley.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Layne Staley! A relieved looking Layne Staley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Harold Harmbe stepped up to the mic, saying 'ill be back again and again till i win'.
