The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp blocks a jab.
A shot to the liver by Sharp. Beautiful body shot.
Sharp looks to score with a jab to the body but Gunner is just out of range.
Sharp throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gunner counters with a nice uppercut.
Young Gunner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunner's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sharp connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gunner scrambles back to his feet.
Sharp moves out of range of the strikes.
Sharp scores with a jab.
Gunner has been working on his boxing with his coaches at *****MY YARD***** in the buildup to the fight.
Gunner takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sharp looks to score with a jab to the body but Gunner is just out of range.

Sharp scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gunner doesn't seem bothered though.

Sharp looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sharp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gunner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sharp walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sharp is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gunner had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Gunner missing with a left hand there. Sharp was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sharp lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Sharp comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Sharp connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

enabling Sharp to counter with a crisp jab.
Sharp moves out of range as Gunner strikes.
Gunner stuns Sharp with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gunner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sharp connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sharp misses with an uppercut. Gunner saw that one coming.
Gunner tests Sharp's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sharp ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Sharp lands a left and a right that send Gunner crashing to the mat, dazed. Sharp thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Sharp swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gunner throws out a powerful jab.
Sharp ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gunner is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gunner lands with an uppercut that bounces Sharp off the cage and back into range.
Gunner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gunner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sharp! But no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asa Sharp dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Sharp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Gunner might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Gunner rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sharp makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Sharp. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sharp.
Sharp throws a lazy uppercut
and Gunner counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Sharp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sharp misses with a wild body shot.
Sharp scores with a hook to the body. Gunner takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gunner throws a right hand that Sharp ducks under and follows up with a left that Sharp also avoids with ease.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
