Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Schmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ludacris: It's Cold Outside. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz swings for the body but Schmo moves out of range.
Diaz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Schmo feinted with a counter takedown.
Diaz swinging wildly here.
Diaz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Diaz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Schmo feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Schmo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Schmo stops Diaz from standing up.
Schmo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Diaz's head.
Schmo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diaz can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schmo postures up and lands a big shot to Diaz's brow.
Schmo lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Schmo is working Diaz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Diaz is rocked!
Schmo arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Diaz's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joe Schmo!

Anthony Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'Thanks for coming out tonight. Sorry I couldn't get the win. I'll be back again though, stronger than ever. '.
