Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtisis Nailor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Tim! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nailor throws a sloppy head kick and Tim counters with a single leg into guard. Nailor didn't expect that. Nailor wants to sweep but no luck. Nailor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tim's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tim can do anything to dispel that myth. Tim can't keep his opponent in guard - Nailor advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Tim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nailor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nailor is trying to control. Tim wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nailor takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nailor passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tim! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tim wants to try and get back to his feet. Nailor wants to take Tim's back here but Tim is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nailor has hold of Tim's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tim manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Nailor controlling the pace for now. Tim is squirming around, avoiding Nailor's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nailor is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tim to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tim shrugs it off. Tim is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Nailor looking to secure an arm triangle but Tim defends it well. Nailor is looking to work his way around to Tim's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Nailor goes for an armbar but Tim turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tim.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nailor has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tim should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nailor has tightened it up now! Tim should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
