Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Topper Harley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alastair Hijins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alastair Hijins will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harley shoots and misses

and Hijins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hijins.
Harley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hijins walks away with a smile on his face. Harley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hijins shoots in for a takedown but Harley shows good takedown defense.

Hijins closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Harley quickly recovers to half guard.
Harley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hijins on the ground.
Hijins content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harley flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hijins performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Hijins decides to stand up.
Harley throws a lazy head kick

and Hijins holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Harley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hijins lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hijins has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hijins stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harley shoots for a takedown but Hijins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Topper Harley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harley shoots in for a takedown but Hijins shows good takedown defense.

Hijins dives in and scores a takedown into Harley's guard.
Hijins stays in close to Harley's body and controls the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hijins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Harley has momentary wrist control but Hijins slips an elbow through the middle.

Harley has his foot on Hijins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hijins works his way back into a safe position though.
Harley is breathing heavily.

Hijins gets to his feet - Harley follows without any prompting.
Harley misses with a hook to the body
and Hijins counters with a head kick. That will keep Harley thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Harley fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hijins is out of range.

Hijins drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Harley wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hijins manages to pass to side control.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hijins in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hijins passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hijins in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hijins tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hijins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Harley tries to hold on but Hijins pushes him away.
Hijins controlling his opponent.
Hijins with good strikes from the mount here!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alastair Hijins dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Harley falls off balance throwing a combination

and Hijins counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Harley!
Harley wants to get back to his feet but Hijins is dominant here and he's now got Harley's back!
Hijins landing with strikes.
Hijins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hijins is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Harley is tapping out! This one is all over!
