Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Tyler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wanderlei Rua! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rua throws a nice looking combination but Tyler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tyler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tyler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tyler wants to pass the guard but Rua is keeping the position. Rua pulls Tyler in to control the position. Tyler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rua trying to keep a closed guard but Tyler is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyler postures up in Rua's guard and throws a big left but Rua blocks it. Tyler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Rua trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rua tries to strike from the bottom.
Rua wants to stand but Tyler is controlling the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck for Tyler with that takedown attempt. Tyler fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Tyler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyler shoots in and drives through. Rua sprawls well. Tyler scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rua wants to control but Tyler is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyler slips a nice elbow through Rua's hands, connecting with Rua's forehead. Tyler prevents Rua from improving his position. Tyler is controlling the pace.
Tyler not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rua is staying active underneath Tyler, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyler thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
Rua is pressing down on Tyler's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rua looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tyler is one step ahead there. Tyler trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Tyler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tyler seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rua for as long as he can get away with. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tyler wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No joy there for Rua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tyler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Tyler shoots in for a takedown but Rua shows good takedown defense. Rua throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rua gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tyler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Rua tries to buck Tyler off but Tyler is having none of it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Rua can't do much from the bottom here. Rua tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua wants to control but Tyler postures up. Rua is trying to improve his position. Rua can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tyler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Tyler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyler shoots in and bounces Rua off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rua manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyler is trying to escape the mount.
Tyler throwing hammer fists to the chest of Rua. What's that going to do exactly? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rua seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Tyler is holding on tight.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyler tries to hold on but Rua postures up. Rua is working for a guillotine from mount but Tyler frees his head quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tyler wants to control but Rua is having none of it. Tyler is desperately trying to improve his position but Rua has a good base and remains in mount. Rua wants to control the pace but Tyler is squirming around nicely. Rua is going olschool here, as he tries to force Tyler to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tyler shrugs it off. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rua trying to control but Tyler is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Tyler dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Tyler looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rua looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tyler takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua wants to control but Tyler passes into side.
Rua tries to buck Tyler off but Tyler is having none of it. Tyler takes a little break here. Rua wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Tyler works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Sloppy strikes there by Tyler. Tyler trying to control the action but Rua is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tyler is staying tight to Rua's torso, preventing him from escaping. Rua sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Rua is looking to improve his position.
Tyler works his way into full mount! Rua is desperately trying to improve his position but Tyler has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyler looking to finish Rua with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rua! Rua tries to hold on but Tyler pushes him away. Rua is working to get back to half guard.
Tyler tries to control but Rua wriggling away. Tyler prevents Rua from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tyler controlling his opponent. Wanderlei Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rua tries to hold on but Tyler pushes him away. Tyler controlling his opponent. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Tyler showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tyler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
